Minecraft 1.4.5 has been released! Not a major change, but does have a few client-side and LAN bugfixes. (1.4.5 IS compatible w/ 1.4.4 servers!) Changelog:

Inventory changes Holding down the left and right mouse buttons and dragging when holding an item now splits the items across the boxes you dragged over. Left button splits them equally across the boxes and leaves the remainder in your hand. Right mouse button drops them one by one as you drag. Double-clicking an item stacks as much of that item in your inventory as possible (up to a full stack) and picks it up without stacking any other loose stacks together. Double-shift-clicking an item in a chest moves all of that item into your inventory neatly stacked into as few stacks as possible. The opposite is also true, moving all the items to the chest in as few stacks as possible.
NOTABLE BUGS: Breaking a block with a Redstone Torch on the side of the block doesn't break the torch. In Creative mode, there are nine empty spaces in Building Blocks. When making an Iron Golem, only the top iron block is used. When using hoppers to place items into or take items out of minecarts, it works with other minecarts and not just chest minecarts.

Inventory management Double click items to fill the stack up as much as possible. Drag item stacks around to divide them up over the dragged-over slots. Drag item stacks around with the right mouse button to place one of that stack in each dragged-over slot, if that slot is not occupied already. ⇧ Shift+ double click items in a crafting area to place all items in the inventory. ⇧ Shift+ double click an item stack to move all other item stacks of that kind to that part of the inventory. Pressing Q while the mouse is over an item in the inventory or a container will drop it. Held armor can be equipped by right-clicking.
