50DKP Originally started as a Final Fantasy XI Linkshell in July 2010. It was made up of some friends, some people from 4Chan.org, and some people from Reddit.com.  We branched out into FFXI End-Game for a little while, and(as the leader at the time), I purchase 50DKP.com, and a mumble server for our Linkshell.  In this first incarnation of 50DKP.com there was a simple Wordpress blog, and a non-integrated PHPBB3 Forum.  Everything else (LS Points, etc.) was done by hand via FTP and notepad.

    All things come to an end though, and the Linkshell aspect of 50DKP died off.  I then shut down the forums as the community aspect of 50DKP died out.  I left the Wordpress Blog open, with the intention of maybe using it as a personal site, since I had the domain already setup.  This didn't get a lot of use, although I used it on and off as a nice place to host various programming projects I was working on and felt could deal with a (small) public release.

    Time soldiered on, and when Team Fortress 2 went free to play(Late June 2011), and a number of my friends started drifting off from their old communities, I decided it would be a good time to attempt to do something new with 50DKP.  Thus the Team Fortress 2 Server was born.  Rented out from Velocity-Servers.net.  Additionally I spent more time with the blog, fixing up bugs and adding new features; I also built a new PHPBB3 Forum, with full integration into the Wordpress front end.

    Soon, we had moved forward, with hopeful plans to build 50DKP into a thriving internet community.  We even added on a 50DKP Teamspeak 3 Server, a second Team Fortress 2 Server and full stats tracking for the TF2 Servers.  We also have plans to add more game servers in the future and continue improving our current features by adding additional front-page news and articles as well as improving our art assets.

    Now, we've grown even more; we've reached roughly 150 registered forum users, and we run a double-handful of TF2 servers, a TeamSpeak 3 server, and a Minecraft server. We've still got plans to move forward though, with hopefully a growing community at our back as we continue to expand to more games, more events, and more good times.

    Another month has come and gone, and 50DKP has continued to grow. We've now shot up to over 230 registered forum users, added two Terraria Servers into the server mix, and our forum and teamspeak usage has gone through the roof. The site itself has also gone significant improvement, and we're even begining to slowly incorporate fun events into the community. We're aiming to continue to grow well into the future, too, with plans to slowly increase events, general revnues, site usefulness, and slow expansion into other games. Hooray 50DKP!

    50DKP.com is powered by a PHPBB3 back-end with significant in-house modification to turn the system into a complete Content Management System and add support for mutiple site-external features, such as SourceMod and BukkitMod support.
